Biography

My primary research interests lie within the domain of clinical-forensic psychology. Broadly, I am interested in exploring the connection between social cognition and adolescent internalizing/externalizing psychopathology. More specifically, I am keen on investigating how psychosocial dysfunction (e.g., problems with relationship formation) and impaired cognitive-affective processing (e.g., deviant social attitudes and poor impulse control) may serve as criminogenic risk factors for vulnerable youth. I also wish to uncover how these anomalous social-cognitive processes impact the risk of recidivism for juvenile offenders. Ultimately, my goal is for my research to promote change by informing forensic assessments and clinical interventions aimed at the cognitive risk factors underlying child and adolescent problem behaviour.
