School Data Collection

A longstanding theme in the lab has involved the study of bullying and victimization across various school settings. Bullying remains a pervasive issue among school-aged peer groups and has been linked to a range of negative social and psychological outcomes, including substance use. Although many schools struggle to implement effective anti-bullying policies, understanding the individual and contextual factors that influence bullying behaviors is essential.
Previously, the lab conducted a large-scale data collection effort across multiple schools (Pre-K through 12th grade) to explore predictors of children's thoughts and behaviors related to bullying, victimization, and substance use. While we are not currently collecting new data for this project, we continue to actively analyze and publish findings from this rich dataset. Future data collection efforts may be pursued as new questions and opportunities arise.
