Zachary C. Bricken will Present at The Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) Annual Meeting
The Nyre Clinical Child Psychology Student Support Fund was established in 2018 by Dr. Joseph E. Nyre and Kelli L. Nyre in honor of founding director, Dr. Michael C. Roberts to provide financial support for graduate students in the Clinical Child Psychology Program (CCPP) at the University of Kansas.
Each semester, a student who demonstrates excellence in research is chosen to receive this award. This semester, Zachary Bricken, MA has been selected based on a cutting-edge research project on Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI).
The Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) Annual Meeting brings together researchers and practitioners at the forefront of behavioral health innovation. Zachary's poster is entitled "Perceptions of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) as a Co-Creative Tool in Behavior Change Intervention Development". This research was conducted as part of his task project and shares a new perspective on professional and trainee perspectives on AI’s use in behavioral health interventions. Presenting this important research to a national audience will both refine the field’s understanding of AI’s role in intervention development and move towards a better understanding of AI’s role in digital health spaces. Additionally, the participant pool consisted of SBM members. Zachary said, "Sharing outcomes that attendees themselves contributed to helps connect my work with the broader field."
For the 2026 meeting, he also plans to network with industry professionals. This is an opportunity to reconnect with Aura at the 2026 meeting and explore additional opportunities for industry experience.
Zachary looks forward to attending the SBM annual meeting to continue building network connections, present meaningful research integral to my graduate school milestones, and connect with like-minded researchers, practitioners, and leaders in behavioral medicine.
