Mission, Vision, Values, and Priorities

The mission of the Clinical Child Psychology Program is to develop leaders in the research, dissemination, and practice of clinical psychological science and to produce community-engaged research that improves the lives of children, adolescents, and families. Through our innovative teaching, experiential learning, world class research, and leadership in professional organizations we ensure that our graduates are prepared to contribute and adapt to the changing landscape of professional and health service psychology.

We aspire to be the leading clinical child psychology program in the country, serving as the model for training in our specialty area, and providing unparalleled research, training, and service locally, regionally, and nationally. We aim to be a faculty, who—individually and collectively— are internationally recognized content experts that lead the conversation on research and training in children’s mental health and well-being.

As a program, we value

In service of our mission, the CCPP will

• Contribute to the advancement of psychological science and its application to improve the lives of children, adolescents, and their families through programs of research encompassing basic and applied science
  
   
• Promulgate this knowledge through teaching, graduate training, consultation in the community, publication of scholarly works, and participation in professional organizations
  
   
• Create an inclusive and diverse academic environment that values each student, faculty, and staff member’s contributions to the Program and to the discipline
  
   
• Engage in regular self-reflection and self-assessment to ensure that our daily activities reflect our values, and that we are making progression toward our mission and vision
