I am a third-year doctoral student working with Dr. Yo Jackson and Dr. Christopher Cushing. I am interested in examining the roles of family environment and social support, along with other risk and protective factors, in the development of mental and physical health problems in children and adolescents exposed to maltreatment. I study how maltreatment history, adverse life experiences, and current family environment are related to health service use, chronic illness, and biomarkers of inflammation. I hope to better understand how chronic stress influences health behaviors and health outcomes.
