My primary research interest within pediatric psychology is treatment outcome, specifically emphasizing the intersection between health and behavior.  My research includes a variety of pediatric populations using objective measures of behavior including fMRI, actigraphy, and neuropsychological tasks. My current research involves functional neuroimaging to examine impulsivity in children and their mothers participating in a weight management program. I am also currently working on projects involving prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity, through Lawrence Public Schools, Turner High School in Kansas City, a sports camp at KU, and family-based pediatric obesity interventions in Kansas City and Lawrence. I work with researchers at the University of Kansas, University of Kansas Medical Center, Children’s Mercy Hospital, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
