Adrian Ortega

BS (2017) University of Florida, Gainesville, FL
Primary office:

I am a first year student in Dr. Christopher Cushing’s Pediatric Health Insight Team (PHIT). My primary research interests are in understanding the bio-behavioral processes that influence healthy decision-making in youth. My research goals are to better explain the underlying mechanisms that mediate healthy eating and physical activity behaviors. Within Dr. Cushing’s PHIT, I utilize digital assessment tools to build complex models to describe behavioral health processes. I aspire to integrate advanced research methodologies and digital tools to advance not only psychological science but all of STEM. My long-term aim is to translate these findings into clinical interventions (e.g. mHealth apps, just-in-time adaptive interventions) for youth with chronic health conditions.
